The QIS Football program works within Queensland’s Football calendar and provides talented young players with challenging development training programs to help their progression through their chosen sport.
Players will train twice a week throughout the football off-season with high quality local football coaches, athletic coaches and young youth players undertaking sports coaching traineeships.
Players will also have the opportunity to experience guest training sessions from QIS development coaches and also participate in matches against other development institutes.
Players will be identified through skills sessions and game play through our primary school development programs and liaising with the regional development officers.
Players will need to be willing to devote their time and effort to meet the program requirements. Players will also need to fall into the following age brackets:
The program will run from late September to December.
A scholarship levy fee does apply to all athletes who are successful in becoming a QIS scholarship athlete. This scholarship fee covers the full cost of participation in the program including, but not limited to, training, education, materials and the QIS apparel kit.
Additional costs may apply for travel and/or accommodation at some stages throughout the program, though athletes and their parents will receive information regarding any additional costs well in advance of any such events or opportunities.
The scholarship fee must be paid in full prior to commencement of the scholarship program, unless a payment plan has been arranged and signed-off by QIS management.
